Stool 60 was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933 and became one of
the clearest expressions of his research into bent wood and
serial furniture production.
Its three characteristic L-shaped legs are formed by bending
solid birch, allowing the seat to be connected directly to the
supports without a conventional frame.
The stool is lightweight, stackable and adaptable to different
uses, embodying Aalto’s interest in combining industrial
production with natural materials and simple construction.
