ARCHIVE_DSG

ARCHIVE_DSG is conceived as a digital collection of selected designers and significant works from the history of modern and contemporary design.

Rather than attempting to document the entire history of design, the archive focuses on a curated selection of authors and projects, creating connections between people, objects, materials, manufacturers and historical periods.

Each designer is presented through a biographical profile that introduces their background, ideas, research and contribution to design culture.

The profiles provide the context necessary to understand the objects and projects connected to each author, creating a direct relationship between biography and production.

A selection of works accompanies each designer profile. Individual object pages combine images with essential information such as date, materials, typology and manufacturer.

Short descriptions provide additional context, allowing each object to be explored independently while remaining connected to the designer who created it.

ARCHIVE_DSG is conceived as an open and continuously evolving archive.

New designers, objects and information can progressively be added, expanding the collection and creating new relationships between different authors, periods and approaches to design.

The project was developed by Josefina Fernandez for the Web Design Laboratory as an exploration of digital archives, visual identity and online editorial systems.
