The Savoy Vase, also known as the Aalto Vase, was designed
by Alvar Aalto in 1936 and became one of the most recognizable
objects of Finnish modern design.
Its irregular, flowing outline breaks away from conventional
geometric forms and reflects Aalto’s interest in nature,
organic shapes and free-form composition.
Originally presented in connection with the 1937 Paris
International Exhibition, the vase later became closely
associated with the Savoy Restaurant in Helsinki.
